Medsafe

The New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority responsible for the regulation of medicines and medical devices in New Zealand.

National Health Committee

Prioritises new and existing health technologies and making recommendations. The Committee also provides advice on what technologies are obsolete or no longer providing value for money for New Zealanders.

National Health IT Board

Provides independent, strategic advice for investment in trusted and secure integrated health information systems and IT solutions to improve the overall performance of the healthcare system. Produces annual plan including a common operating environment, national infrastructure and secure connectivity.

PHARMAC

Decides which medicines and related products are publicly funded and to what level. PHARMAC manages all hospital medicines and vaccines. PHARMAC is working towards management of hospital medical devices, in conjunction with Health Benefits Ltd.
