Collaborate
The first step is to evaluate and confirm your idea or innovation's potential to solve important needs.
We will draw on our partnerships and networks to suggest suitably qualified people and organisations you can work with to validate your innovation.
They may also be able to provide feedback that goes into the design of your product or service.
Develop
Once your innovation has been evaluated we can look more closely at its potential and how that potential can be achieved.
This about turning ideas into value or putting your prototype into production.
We want to make sure your innovation gets rolled out so it can help as many people as possible.
This is where we work with you to sort out intellectual property, manufacturing, licensing, a business plan, financing, marketing – everything that needs to happen to turn your idea into a business.
If we believe your innovation doesn’t meet our requirements – for example it doesn’t have the potential to improve health outcomes for a large number of New Zealanders, or is not a public health system priority right now – then we may choose to stand back once we've made any introductions to our networks.
Connect
At every step of the journey, the New Zealand Health Innovation Hub is here to connect you with the people and the organisations whose skills and expertise you can draw on to maximise the potential health outcomes of your innovation.
We exist to turn good ideas into something the publicly funded health system wants to buy. It’s all about improving health outcomes and reducing the cost of care.
We also want to see financial gains returned to the NZ health sector so they can be used to nurture and develop future innovations.
